The monograph explores the social-historical institution of education and cross-cultural studies in Europe, and, more generally, the West. It is an inquiry into the relation of society to education, in pivotal epochs of the continent’s history, and today, as well as into the purpose of cross-cultural and educational comparison.
The book will be introduced by Hans Dorf, Christian Christrup Kjeldsen, Niels Rosendal Jensen, and the author. The presentation will be followed by discussion, and a small reception.
