Major progress for Faculty of Arts in respected ranking list

The faculty has advanced 26 places on a recently published ranking list. From number 91 last year to number 65 this year.

Every year in the month of October, the Times Higher Education (THE) publishes ranking lists – including rankings for subject areas at the top 100 universities. The main objective is to give students a tool that helps them to choose where they want to study. This year the Faculty of Arts at Aarhus University has moved up the list, and is now in 65th place on the “Arts and Humanities” list.

The faculty was measured in terms of 13 parameters which were divided into five groups: 1. Research; 2. Teaching; 3. Citations; 4. Internationalisation; and 5. External funding from industry. In particular, the faculty has made major strides in terms of internationalisation and citations.

“I’m delighted because this positive trend proves that all the faculty’s hard work with regard to research and internationalisation is paying off,” says Johnny Laursen, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
