OPENING DOORS

Opportunities and education in networked innovation for new graduates with PhDs using open online resources.

Three members of Centre for Higher Education Futures (CHEF) Associate Professor (and Co-Director of CHEF) Søren Smedegaard Bengtsen, Associate Professor Christian Dalsgaard and Associate Professor Francesco Caviglia  (Danish School of Education, Aarhus University) are partners in a new European consortium ‘OPENING DOORS’.

Reimagine PhD education

The objective of OPENING DOORS initiative is to develop an educational programme spanning disciplinary, geographic and sectoral boundaries. Trends in globalisation and innovation in technology indicate increasing demand for new types of knowledge and skills in the European workforce, and a gap has been identified in current PhD programmes in meeting future employment needs. The goal is to re-imagine PhD education and develop a new online course for PhD students that will develop skills in entrepreneurship, technology and open science.
