Young Academy of Europe (YAE)

is an organization of younger, European top researchers, from all academic areas. Originally, all members were researchers who had received the EU´s so-called ERC Starting Grant, but this year, the academy has begun accepting other younger researchers with high qualification, at an international level.

The purpose of the organization is to provide a forum, in which European research, and science policies, can be discussed, from the point of view of younger scientists, in order to share experience, across geographic and scientific borders, to enhance the career options of younger researchers, to ensure that European research policies favour the career options of younger researchers, and to communicate the conditions, challenges and potential of younger researchers to the public.

Jacob Ladegaard has been granted a 5-year membership of the academy.
