The aim of my project is to explore quantitative methods to understand and impact writer identity in human–AI collaborative writing contexts. My work focuses on how we can preserve expressive individuality in text when working with large language models such as ChatGPT and Claude. By developing a stylometric pipeline to assess unique writing styles, I aim to build adaptive writing tools that support personal expression in real-world contexts while also contributing to the broader ethical conversation around AI and creativity.
The make-up of my dissertation will include argumentation and testing of my stylometric pipeline, comparison of human and Ai generated text across contexts, assessment of impacts on writer style in collaborative human-ai contexts, and a working prototype of a more ethically-considered and human-centered writing tool.
