Opening reception for TEXT May 1st
Almost 100 people – stakeholders, colleagues, and partners - from all over Denmark participated and helped to make it an afternoon we won’t forget.

You can only open a centre once, and yesterday was our big opening.
There were talks by Centre Director, Mads Rosendahl Thomsen, Centre co-director, Rebekah Baglini, director from the Danish National Research Foundation Niels Mejlgaard, dean from the Faculty of Arts, Maja Horst, and a reception afterwards.
Mads Rosendahl Thomsen describes the day:
“A lot of work goes into establishing a centre, from the first drafts of the idea to getting the physical location set up. It was precisely the kind of opening we were hoping for as the extended network of TEXT showed up. No centre is an island, and in our case, we certainly depend on collaboration with multiple partners.
I was personally touched by the speeches from director Niels Mejlgaard, dean Maja Horst, and three generous colleagues who spoke off the cuff. They were all very encouraging and kindly reminded us that they have high hopes for our future work.”
We are very grateful to all the people who attended, and it turned into a lot of inspiring talk, including possible new collaborations.
