Postgraduate reseracher holding a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions postdoctoral fellowship. My current research focuses on career learning and career guidance in three Danish island communities, more information here: https://projects.au.dk/spaciis
My research interests focus on the spatial dimension of career guidance and development. I am particularly interested in the spatialities of educational systems and labour markets, how these impact on young people's trajectories (career and mobility), and how career professionals work with the spatialities of career in practice. My research is largely focused on rural and island communities, where issues of place and mobility in relation to career transition are very apparent.
I previously worked as a lecturer in career guidance and devleopment at the University of the West of Scotland.
I have worked on a range of consultancy projects on good practice in career learning and development, including writing reports on school careers provision, labour market information, and working on evidence for Scotland's Career Review,
