My research broadly deals with the interfaces of temporality, materiality and nothingness, particularly in relation to marginal groups or marginal objects. This has included fieldworks related to subcultures, youth, nihilism, boredom and organized crime in Georgia. Currently, my research centers around two themes: 1) coastal infrastructures, emptiness, waste, decay and demolition, with ongoing fieldworks on the Dalmatian coastline in Croatia and along the Danish West Coast, and 2) imagistic approaches to speculations about the future in areas bordering Russia
