Research

My research focuses on narratives and the many ways in which narratives influence modern people's lives and coexistence. I am particularly interested in experimental and unusual narratives, both those found in art and literature and those found in current public rhetoric. Currently, I am researching the altered functions of narratives in digital media environments by examining, for example, memes, extreme political rhetoric, campaign rhetoric, and synthetic media and AI.

Teaching activities

I teach in the Rhetoric program (Rhetorical Criticism, Narrative and Visual Rhetoric), in the program for Scandinavian Studies (literary history, literary analysis) as well as in Humanistic Conflict Studies. As the head of the PhD program in Art, Literature and Cultural Studies, I teach a range of PhD courses, including the international Summer Course in Narrative Studies. Currently, I supervise three PhD students in rhetorical projects. I have supervised more than 80 Master Theses. I am a member of the national examination corps for Danish (literature, media, and language) and for Rhetoric.
