Abstract
A combined overview of Bronze Age body armour as helmets, cuirasses, and greaves is presented. The presentation includes traditional typochronological discussion in combination with detailed technological and material analyses of selected finds, as well as detailed studies in the production and use of helmets, cuirasses and greaves. We will get important insight into the role armour played in Bronze Age life, whether practical and utilitarian or combined with ceremonial and symbolic functions.
