Jacob holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Copenhagen and is recipient of a Novo Nordisk/Mads Øvlisen post-doc grant for a project on the art history of disaster. He is affiliated with the interdisciplinary research project ‘Changing Disasters’ at the University of Copenhagen (see http://changingdisasters.ku.dk/). His post-doc project consists of a series of 18 exhibitions that focus on art’s treatment of disasters – real as well as fictive – both historically and in relation to the present. The exhibitions will feature Danish and international art of the highest quality. The ambition of the post-doctoral project, the curatorial practice and individual exhibitions, is to engage in a relation of exchange with the research at Changing Disasters and to expand and contribute to the broad interdisciplinary approach. Jacob will give an overview of the project that has just started and its vision.
