In this lecture, Lothar Mikos will discuss the following issues concerning the definition and measuring of quality television content in transnational media industries:
- What is quality content and for whom in a media landscape with still further fragmentation and segmentation?
- How can quality be measured and what are the conquences of our media measuring criteria?
- What role does quality play in media policy in different media industries?

This lecture is part of Student Hackathon 2017 – a collaboration between BA Course Media System Analysis and Digital Society. In Student Hackathon 2017, the students work on “real life” cases surrounding the topic “How does quality content survive in the digital society?”. About Lothar: Lothar Mikos is a visiting researcher at School of Communication and Culture, Media Studies. Lothar is a professor in Television Studies at the Filmuniversitaet Babelsberg
