The Faculty of Arts at Aarhus University is one of Northern Europe’s largest and wide-ranging faculties for research and higher education within the humanities, theology and education. The faculty ranges ranges from IT expertise to the classical humanistic, theological and social scientific disciplines to didactics and education. The faculty is characterised by a wide range of academic fields and includes a large and diverse portfolio of degree programmes.
The faculty employs around 800 full-time members of academic staff and has around 9.200 students. Furthermore, the faculty houses around 1.000 students studying continuing and further education. Arts has around 300 enrolled PhD students.
The Faculty of Arts was established in 2011 when the former Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Theology and the Danish School of Education were merged.
