Johnny Laursen new Chairman of the Board at DIIS
On 1 January 2017, Johnny Laursen takes up the position as chairman of the board at DIIS, the Danish Institute for International Studies.
He has served as deputy chairman to Professor Laurids S. Lauridsen, Roskilde University, who resigns from the board after serving the maximum period of eight years.
- I am pleased and proud to have been part of the board in an important period in DIIS’ development. I look forward to continuing this in a time when Danish society needs research and counselling from DIIS more than ever, Johnny Laursen says.
- The world around us has become more changeable and dynamic; Europe and the rest of the world face great challenges. This means there is a great demand for DIIS’ analyses, he states.
Johnny Laursen would like to take the opportunity to thank his predecessor for his commitment and valuable efforts in the DIIS board, including his six years as chairman.
Johnny Laursen has a PhD in history and has been a member of the DIIS’ board since July 2010. His is dean of the Faculty of Arts, Aarhus University and is a member of the university management.
