On 1 September 2020, eleven internationally recognised researchers will take up the position as honorary professors at the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University. The collaboration with these leading international capacities will help strengthen DPU’s research, both nationally and internationally.

At DPU, we have worked hard to strengthen our international profile over the last five years. As a result of these efforts, the Danish School of Education at Aarhus University is today placed among the world’s top 50-100 environments for research and education within the field of education and pedagogy (as measured for the subject Education in the QS World University Rankings); the goal is for DPU to enter the top 50.

‘The collaboration with the 11 new honorary professors will help fulfil DPU’s ambition of international collaboration and a vision supporting excellence within Danish educational research and practice,’ states Head of School Claus Holm, continuing:

‘I am thrilled that DPU is developing into an increasingly internationally oriented and esteemed institution. For us, it is fundamentally a matter of wanting to find out how things are done in other parts of the world, as well, of course, as explaining how we do things here. It is not a question of having blind faith in one’s own solutions, or in those of others for that matter. Instead, it is an opportunity for an interesting and fruitful exchange that can help us better understand challenges and solutions within the field of education.’
