The period around 1600 BC was in many parts of Europe a crucial turning point with a more or less radical
cultural break with the preceding period. This seminar will explore this break from the Aegean over the Carpathian
Basin to Scandinavia. The question will be posed of the potential impact of the Minoan eruption of
Santorini which took place 1613 ±13 BCE. Lectures address the theme ‘1600 BCE
from different angles and regions
Due to the limited capacity of Pejsestuen, registration is necessary to Helle Vandkilde before April 10th
