I will present some material from recent fieldwork in Ecuador to introduce the sort of approach I am trying to develop to talk about intimacy and work in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Depending on how far I get with the new data I am analyzing right now, the talk might be about one of three themes:

- Real estate and travesti sex work

- Masculinity and sexuality in relation to travesti sex work

- Indigenous trans* and cis- women activists
