A new discussion of the category of fascism has emerged since the beginning of Trump's second presidency. The term is both used as an analytical term to designate the rise of new critiques of liberal democracy and as a battle concept to target political opponents. Professor Federico Tarragoni from the University of Caen, France will discuss how to engage academically and politically what we might call Trumpism:
Does it make sense to characterize it as a fascism or as just another variant of populism?
Professor Tarragoni is an expert on democracy, new forms of political activism and populism and a Professor of political sociology at the University of Caen and honorary fellow at the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF).
