Join Center for Digital History Aarhus, Center for Contemporary History, the DFF-project ‘Complaints and the Welfare State,’ and the ERC-projects DALOSS and WEB CHILD for an in-person workshop on web archives!

The World Wide Web is more than thirty years old. Over the last three decades, it has altered everything from everyday lives to world politics. However, historians shun the Web in their analyses, and, as a result, contemporary histories continue to ignore this vital source of information. By participating in this two-day seminar, you can help change this.

We invite anyone interested in analysing aspects of the recent past to join us for inspirational talks and hands-on sessions introducing the Web as a source and web archives.

As available in-person slots will be limited to 25 on a first come first serve basis, we will reserve the right to move students and late comers to online participation.

9:00-10:30 Presentation of Netarkivet by the Royal Danish Library

11:00-12:00 Newcomers in focus ‘session.’ In this session experienced researchers and librarians will support beginners (including literature suggestions, discussion of early ideas, etc.).

12:00-13:00 Lunch break 

13:00-14:30 Hands-on help with Netarkivet (on-site session only): For this session, participants will need to sign up to use Netarkivet on beforehand (takes 2-3 workdays to process) (https://www.kb.dk/find-materiale/samlinger/netarkivet/forskningsadgang)

14:45-17:00 What do born-digital historians do? (on-site session only) Ultra short presentations for students + presentations by students--takes place in NOBELSALEN (students, please use seperate sign up)
