3D visualisations are increasingly present in our daily life and in many scientific environments. They represent a new sophisticated way to contextualise, communicate and perceive information. Because of this, 3D visualisations are the subject of growing discussion and research interest, not least in the cultural history disciplines. The seminar “Why 3D?” aims at gathering for the first time those who in Denmark apply 3D visualisations for the investigation and dissemination of cultural heritage. This initiative offers a platform, where experts operating in Denmark, can discuss challenges, potentials and results in the use of 3D visualisation technologies applied to the investigation of our shared past.
