Lasse Bech knudsen - New PhD at the Department of Anthropology

Lasse will be working on the project: Future-Proofing: Theorising the Effort to Know and Govern for Future Climate Risks in the Scottish Civil Service.

My name is Lasse, I’m 24 years old, and hold my undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Moesgård.

During the next four years, I’ll be working on a 4+4 PhD-project called “Future-Proofing: Theorising the Effort to Know and Govern for Future Climate Risks in the Scottish Civil Service.” The project aims to ethnographically explore how Scottish civil servants, politicians, and climate scientists in disparate ways predict and model the long-term risks of climate change and how they use that data to co-design “future-proof” policy responses. Hopefully, this will help nuance how “modern” policy-making unfolds in new ways as climate risks increasingly demand novel tools and capabilities to govern for the future.

I’m very excited to become part of the research environment at Moesgård, where I’ll be in the capable hands of Nina Vohnsen and Nils Bubandt, who will supervise and co-supervise on the project, for the years to come. I’m excited to get started and very much looking forward to meeting all of you!
